Thanksgiving Weekend

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already and I hope Christmas doesn't come and go at the same rate!  We had a four day weekend in this household and I CANNOT believe how quick it flew by!  We will be back at working tomorrow and I did not get to take the amount of pictures I wanted but I wanted to share a little bit of our holiday...
Our family. This is the best we could get with this cranky child.
With my momma!
On our way home,  It was def time since she was going on a barely 30 minute nap!
We put up our tree this weekend and Chloe was excited when we turn on the lights but it is an everyday event of picking up ornaments.
We went to Santa's Crayola Exhibit at Crown Center and she loved it.

So the countdown until Christmas begins and I am not sure how I feel about it!  No matter how stressful it can be, I absolutely love this time of year especially having a child of my own.  I am excited to start new traditions this year and continue them for many years!

Our October

I haven't posted on my blog all month so I have a lot of catching up to do!  October has been a really fun and exciting month for us.  Chloe is  now showing interest in a lot of different things now and the excitement of little things, makes us excited like we are experiencing them for the first time! Here are some Fall activities we did in October.  One thing on my Fall list that is a must is the pumpkin patch.

We also painted pumpkins since Chloe is not knife trustworthy yet.
We went to the Gladfest Parade.
We went trick or treating at the zoo.
And we of course got dressed up for Halloween.

We we a tribe for Halloween and I loved how our costumes turned out!  We took Chloe and my two nieces Adrianna and Ayana trick or treating and then we went to the mall where they were having trick or treating.  Chloe loved it!  So, we had an amazing October and I am sad to see if go!

Little Girl with a Big Vocabulary

When we went to Chloe's 18 month check-up we were told by her pediatrician that she is talking like a two year old.  I always felt like she was advanced in that area but I am always biased with her so to hear the pediatrician say that, it just confirmed I have one smart little shit!  I never want to forget anything so I wanted to document what she is saying right now because mommy brain is a real thing these days and I never want to forget the little things that are really pretty big!

So, it doesn't hit you that your baby is turning into a toddler until they repeat their first cuss word!  I am guilty of expression through cussing so it was no surprise I said the word shit in front of her one day. Next thing I hear is her version of the word ("Sit").  I was in complete shock but still wanted to laugh my butt off because it was so stinking funny and dare I say cute?!  My next thought was, "This is the ultimate sign that it is time to start watching my mouth!"

My little sailor looking all innocent!

Chloe as at the point where she is saying little sentences and also mocking the songs on her cartoons or other songs that we listen to often.  We were listening to the radio one day in the car and a rap song came on that her Dad listens to.  It was "We Dem Boyz" by Wiz Khalifa and the song starts off with him chanting saying, "Hey" and "Yea" and Chloe would repeat him every time he said it.  Also, I have been listening to Sam Smith's CD, "The Lonely Hour"  for like two months straight and the girl will sing along to it.  She of course does not know it word for word but she sings with the melody and babbles along to it.  It really is the cutest thing ever!

Some of the words and sentences she is saying are:
Momma, Dadda
Pops
Tyke (the cat)
Thank you
Please
No, Yes
Let's Go
Two and Five
I Love You
Cuddle
Where is Momma, Dadda, Tyke (the cat)
Where'd it Go?
Mine
Come
Eat
Cole (Nicole)
Hey
Ew
Boo Boo
Baba
Shoes
Eyes
Foot
Many more.....

This age is so much fun and I can't wait to hear all the cute stuff that will come out of her mouth in the future (until she is a teen and starts talking back!)

Sunday Funday

Sunday is a bittersweet day.  On one hand, it can be either a fun, a chill out day, or a get shit done day.  And on the other hand, it is the last day of the weekend and soooo close to Monday!  Although it flew by, we had a pretty great Sunday.  We woke up at about 8 am ( 1 hr later than usual!), made Chloe breakfast, and we both had breakfast while Daddy went to work for a couple hours.   We had a birthday party to get ready for so we started that fiasco!  Is it just me or is preparing for birthday parties the constant battle of, "To nap now or nap later?"  I love going to birthday parties but they usually start around Chloe's nap time and we end up with a fussy baby at some point.  We made it work though!

Chuck E Cheese's
Chloe would not get on this alone so Momma had to put on her invisible cowboy hat!
I love candid moments like this!

We went to Largo Cargo in Independence, Mo for my first time.  Wjhen we walked in, I thought to myself, "WTF did I just walk into!?"  It looked like a thrift store but it had products like Walmart, jewelry, appliances, clothes, shoes, tools, and waaay more!
The moment when I knew this place was for me.... When I found Essie nail polish for $1.50!  Yes, $1.50!  They had some Fall colors which I have been in the market for and some lighter colors I have also been looking for like this light pink!  Some things were pricey but others were awesome in price.  I don;t know if Cargo Largo is just Missouri but if I pray for everyone to have one of these bad boys!

So, who has to change their child more than once a day!?  If your child is under 5, I am sure you raised your hand!  I actually do not mind because I LOVE to dress Chloe up in different outfits.  During the weeldays, she will come home with another outfit on but it is different being with her 24/7 on the weekends.  I just want to dress her up multiple times.  He curly hair and cut little face does not help!  And these Toms shoes?  Seriously one of my fave shoes she has!  Btw, she has one of her momma's wallets.  She sees me carry just my wallet so she copies me!
I had ribs cooking in the crockpot while we were gone for the Cheifs game.  Afer Chloe's nap, I cooked eveything else.  We had Pioneer Woman;s french fries and red beans and rice.  Anything with french fries, it my favorite meal so I was a happy camper!
Weird hand action here!  But I enjoyed some wine while Chloe played on the back porch.

So, that was our Sunday.  We had an amazing weekend and I hope you did too!

A Series of Weekends

The best part of the week is the obviously the weekend so I wanted to share a compilation of photos from the last few weekends.
This is from this most recent weekend.  Eric was gone for most of the day and it was raining so Chloe and I just took pictures and played around the house.
This is one of the newest things she does.  She acts like she is talking on the phone talking in her baby language and then says bye!  It is seriously the cutest thing!  I wish we knew what babies say because this child really knows what she is talking about!
We never play in Chloe's room because she has a toy room and the living room is filled with toys so there is really no need to play in there but we did this weekend  and it was so much fun.

This is also from this weekend on Saturday.  We went by my Aunt Emogene's house to bring her and my mom flowers because my aunt just got out of the hospital and my neice and cousins were there.  We were going to ride the train after that so I invited these girlies to come along.  It is $.50 per person to ride it twice!  Yes, you read that right!  You cannot do anything these days for $.50 so this was a pleasant surprise!
T
I swear I cannot get all these girls to look at the camera all at once!
This is a couple weekends ago.  I took my two nieces and Chloe to the park.

She always have to have her sippy cup. Drinking and driving!
We went to Eric's sister's Pawn Shop and the racing place next door was having a little anniversary party and they had a bunch of bounce houses.  A week later, I hear about all of these bounce houses that flew off the ground with kids in them!

That smile!
My Aunt Mary Ellen's birthday party!
Zoo time, her favorite part was the penguins and polar bear.
My Cool baby!  Chloe loves to dig in her sunglasses and try them on.  She will only wear each pair for like 1 secs so this is the best pic I could get!

So, that is our last few weekends.  I love weekends but Friday is just too close to Monday so I love to relive the weekends through all the pictures we take!  I hope to share more posts like this so Chloe can relive these times!

A Glimpse into our Summer

This summer has been exciting since Chloe is older and can actually enjoy different activities you do in the summer!  I love teaching and showing her new things and I wanted to document this time of her life so here are some snippets of our summer!
 Swimming with our cousins!
Montoya Family Reunion 2014.  This is Eric's family reunion and there was a mariachi band there which was pretty cool.  Eric is half Mexican but you would never be able to tell.  It is funny because people always think I am of Spanish decent and at the reunion, someone asked if I was Eric's Dad's daughter!
 Water fun again!
I told you she liked water!
Shades in the house, she is that cool!
So, I thought it would be fun to get Chloe some washable paint but she really did not understand the concept.  She put it in her mouth and did everything but paint with it!
Baby girl and I on the Fourth of July.
Zoo time looking at the penguins.
Our first time painting her toes!  I seriously could not contain my excitement about this!  She just sat there and let me do it and now anytime I paint my nails, she puts her toes out to do hers!
18 month checkup!  I love our pediatrician.  Chloe was scared so she let her use her stethoscope on her stuffed animal and she was okay after that!
First time using the big girl scale!  Usually. they weigh her on the scale where she lays down but this made it official that baby girl is getting big.  I have a love/hate relationship with her getting older.  On one hand, I love it because she is learning and progressing like she should but on the other hand, I want her to stay little forever.  One thing I do feel is grateful.  Grateful to be her momma, grateful to be able to teach her things grateful to watch her grow.
What a surprise, more water! This is from our cousin Aaliyah's 9th birthday.  We went to a water park and of course Chloe has a blast!  I cannot believe that my cousin Aaliyah is 9!  There are so many things about this little girl that is rare.  She is such a big girl and loves to take care of anyone littler than her.  I remember when she was little like Chloe and I am so happy I am her cousin!

Sleepover time!  Chloe's little cousins spent the night with us last night which Chloe loved.  My neices Adrianna and Ayana and my little cousins Amaya and Adrianna spent the night and we made our own pizzas, smores, the big girls did face masks, and we played in the tent for a while!
 Drinking and Driving.
This us from my Aunt Mary Ellen's birthday party.
Sleepover!
