Chloe Lately

I cannot believe my baby girl is going to be two and a half in just a month!  As much as it makes me want to find the closest time machine, I enjoy this stage more than any other stage so far.  The personality this girl has kills me! So, I wanted to share some new things that this child has brought in our life....
The Talking:
You can literally have a conversation with this girl and she has no issues finding the words to communicate what she wants.  One morning, I got in her face to talk to her and before I could say anything, she said, "Whatchu want Mommy?"  I about died when she said that because the facial expression along with it was hilarious and I know she didn't want me in her face because I was interrupting Disney Junior.  There are things that she says that I wonder where the heck she got it from like saying, "Mommy it don't match"  when I am getting her dressed.  And then there are the things I tell her to say that melt my heart like, "You are the best ever!"

The Singing & Dancing:
Every song on the radio is embedded in Chloe's head.  She catches onto the lyrics better than her Momma!  This is not always good though because I did hear her say, " I am in love with the Cocoa"  one day.  She is obsessed with every Taylor Swift song and she loves "Animals"  by Maroon.

The Girliness:
She is beyond girly and all she wants to do is wear dresses, skirts, and glitter anything.  More about that here.

The Determination:
When she turned two, we saw a whole new Chloe we had never seen before.  The outburst and determination to do what she wanted was about to drive us nutso!  She has definitely got better and I do not want to pull my hair out as often (or maybe I have gained more patient) but she still has her tantrums about things she wants.  No is at the top of the list of favorite words for her.  Time out and little taps on the booty really does nothing for her but there is something about "The Count"  that scares her.  You say one and by two, she has this look on her face like, "Oh crap, it is time to listen now!"

Those are just a few things that are new about our new little Chloe.  She brings so much joy to our lives and there really is never a dull moment.

Big Girl Room

We finally got around to painting Chloe's toddler bed and changing things around for her big girl room.  My mom's neighbor was nice enough to give us their old grand babies bed.  It was a light wood color but her furniture is white so Eric painted it white and it looked good as new!  We did not change anything too dramatic like the wall coloring and decor, just added a few things and got rid of a few things.
This is when you first walk in and then the bottom picture is her new bed!  Since toddler beds have the same size mattresses as cribs, I could not really find a great comforter that would fit so I just got a Hello Kitty blanket and folded it to fit.

This is the dresser side.  We have had this dresser since she was born.  It was also given to us and Eric spruced it up.  We got the pink knobs 40% off at Hobby Lobby.  On the dresser are some pictures of her Grandmas on both sides, my old baby shoes, and a lamp.  On the right side, are some diy vases with flowers.  I got some flowers and little pink rhinestones at Hobby Lobby and the little vases are from Dollar Tree.

We got this shelf unit at Target which we bought to put in place of her changing table a while ago.  I love this little thing because it stores a bunch of stuff like her hair stuff, bows, headbands, etc but it you mix also add some decor to it.  Above it is a quote that says, "Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."  We have had it since she was born also and I love it because it is so true!

The only new thing on this side is the little princess chair which I adore!  The little picture boards are perfect for her hair clips!  So that is her big girl room!  It is so girly just like Chloe.  I always think the light is on in her room when I look down the hall way because the pink is so dang bright! I think in a couple years, we will redo the theme and take away the black but we will see!

It's a Girl Thing!

Okay, so Chloe has been really channeling in her inner girl lately and it is the cutest thing EVER!  She is into all things girly right now.  Everything from shoes, glitter, dresses, to finger nail polish...she lives for it all.  She has always been girly because well, she is a girl but it came in full force about a month ago.  She started not wanting to take her shoes off after I picked her up from work or she would pick the most glittery pair of shoes and freak out if I did not put them on her.  And then came the dresses...  We got her a couple dresses for Christmas but she didn't really pay too much interest in them.  Now, she wants to wear them all day, when she eats, and when she sleeps.  She literally lives for them and in them!  I cannot count how many bracelets, necklaces, and rings are missing fro my jewelry drawer because she raids it basically everyday.  I find them all over the house, in between the couch, and in toy boxes!  The most recent thing is dancing in front of the mirror and just looking at herself in the mirror in general.  You can tell she is looking at herself like, "I am one cute baby!"  Thankfully I have been documenting this little journey.  See for yourself...
She plays outside in it.
And she must have a dress, skirt, or glittery shoes to hang around the house!
She eats in them,
She even paints her nails!
And we throw fits when we have to wear shoes that we did not pick.

So, as you can see, I am in trouble with this one!
Wish us luck!

Easter Weekend 2015

Happy late Easter!!!  Although we had an amazing Easter, I am glad it is over!   We started off our weekend going to the Good Friday service at what I think is our new church home.  Chloe stayed in the sanctuary with me and everyone was putting their hand up giving praise and singing and the next thing I know, Chloe is singing and putting her hand up copying everyone else!  I about died, it was tooooo cute!  I wish I was able to get a picture!  And then on Saturday, we went to a baby shower, went home, and started prepping for Easter.  We did a couple crafts and Chloe dyed Easter eggs.

Easter morning, we woke up and gave Chloe her Easter basket she loved it!  I tried my hardest not to go overboard because I do not want to deflect from what Easter is really about.  I think I did pretty good not going crazy because Lord knows it would be like Christmas if I had no self control!  I made a quick breakfast and then we got ready for church.  Service was great and there is something that makes me so proud going to get Chloe from Sunday school  and getting her craft she did for the day.  Makes me feel like I am doing something in my world of thinking I am not doing enough.

Crazy hair don't care!

After church, my cousin Shana and I started prepping for dinner.  We made ham, twice baked potato casserole, green bean casserole, candied yams, deviled eggs, macaroni and cheese, and rolls.  We did our thing I must say! :)  We also did a little egg hunt and all the kids kept giving Chloe eggs and she ended up with the four our five eggs that had money in it!  It pays to be a baby, she better use that to her advantage as long as she can!  So, that was our Easter!

Easter Brain

Every time a new holiday approaches, that is ALL I think about so right now I have what you would call Easter brain.  I know Eric thinks I am a freak because I keep bugging him about if his side of the family is going to plan anything.  Ever since Chloe arrived, no holiday goes by without a game plan.  It is so important to me that Chloe grows up with traditions and being able to be around both mine and Eric's family.
Her first two Easters!

The night before Easter, I want to make some little Easter treats that we can bring to our family especially the other kiddos in our families.  I am really excited to do these little peep/smores treat bags!  Below are some of the treats I have in mind... We will also do the traditional egg dying and hope that Chloe doesn't just crush the eggs like she did last year!

Also, I want to make sure we start traditions now because Chloe is at the age where she can participate in activities and also kind of understand what holidays mean.  I want her to know Easter is not jsut a day she wakes up and gets a basket of goodies but a day to remember that Jesus died for our sins and his resurrection. We will of course go to Church as a tradition.  Also, I want to make resurrection cookies with her.  I found this this recipe on Pinterest and each step represents and ingredient represents some part of the resurrection.
Resurrection Cookies
There is also a parade that I want to take Chloe to with a petting zoo that I know she will love.  And then I plan on making Easter dinner.  I think I am going to go with Ham, twice baked potatoes, macaroni & cheese, deviled eggs, green beans, rolls, and banana cream pie.  I cannot wait to see Chloe open her easter basket and also be able to enjoy all the activities!
