Throwback Thursdays: Non-Mom Days

Oh, the days of being carefree with not a care in the world!    Since all I seem to talk about is being  a mom (which I do love), I wanted to talk about pre-mom days.  So in honor of throwback Thursdays, here are some throwbacks…
This is the night I graduated from high school in 2007.
Cancun, Mexico celebrating our graduation.
My 19th Birthday where I used my sisters I.D. and she used our cousin's I.D. to get into a club.  Don't ask me how that worked out!
My 21st birthday.  Sad to say this was not my first night at the club but it was my first legal night there!
Eric and I  on my 21st birthday.  I always tease him because tease him because he is one month younger than me.  What can I say, I am a cougar!

18 year old Kasey.

As much as I would love having no cares in the world every once in a while, I do not want to go backwards. I look back at how silly I was and all the stupid things I have done or cared about and I am happy where I am and happy how my life is now!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial (late) Day!  We took waaay too many pics (if there is such a thing) and had tons of fun.  From selfie shoots to an all girl party, Chloe was living in a little girl's dream weekend and I think I was too!
Selfie Action!

So, Chloe is OBSESSED with little girls and all that goes into being a girl.  She always finds a big kid to stalk and she forces herself upon them until they realize they are stuck with her!  Most of the time, it does not take much stalking because she's so stinking cute.  We went to my cousin Amaya's birthday party and she was having a sleepover with about 8 girls.  We did not stay the night but we lasted until about 7 pm and Chloe had a blast.  I got Amaya some makeup to add to her collection and right after they opened presents, they were in the room glamming it up.  Chloe was right behind them as you can see in the above pic.  And I also got to hang out with my sis which we do not do enough.

We also did a little swimming at the community center since all it did was rain.  Chloe loved that too and I cannot get over her in this little bikini!

Makeup again!
On actual Memorial, I had to work for about four hours.  I had been up since 2 am for no reason at all other than a roaming mind so when I got home, Chloe and I took a nap first thing.  After our nap, we went to the park, had a water gun fight, and played with poppers.  That is really it!!!!  I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day and I am happy we have people that are willing to risk their life for our freedom!

Weekend Shenanigans

Another weekend bites the dust!  It was one of those weekends where I felt like I did nothing but then again I feel like I did a lot.  Does that make sense!?  Our weekend started off with presents so I knew it was gonna be a good one!  I picked Chloe up from her Grandma’s after work Friday and when we got home, we had presents there from Eric.  Chloe opened hers first and she got some black and pink Nike’s and a soccer ball and then I got a Coach wallet.  The best part was the little note on my present that said “Just Because.”  We are truly blessed to have him and not just because he gives us gifts (although that does help!) but because he is always thinking of us and trying to do things that make us happy.

On Saturday, we went to Eric’s nephews soccer game and Chloe brought her little soccer ball and even tried to  go on the field to play with it!  We also did a tiny bit of shopping because I have a toddler summer clothes addiction that I cannot say no to.  I did end up getting me a shirt from Pink also so that made me feel good after I got over the fact I spent $25 on a shirt.  I never used to do that and I always shop on the clearance rack but lately, the Pink line has been calling my name and I am loving all of their day to day comfy shirts.  We got home pretty late and I whipped up from Chicken Parmesan and then Chloe and I played in the rain.  She loved it and I must say, I felt like a kid again!  It is funny how they can make you feel so old at times and then other times, they make you feel so young!

We didn't really do too much on Sunday.  Well at least Chloe and I didn't!  By the time we woke up, Eric was already up working on my car.  He changed my oil , checked my brakes, rotate my tires, vacuumed my car, and then mowed two yards!  I am wore out from typing that!   Chloe and I lounged a little bit until she went to sleep and I decided to do something with my life.  I switched out all off my winter and spring/summer clothes and cleaned out my junk drawer.  It is amazing what you find when you do a little Spring cleaning.   I had a pork loin cooking all day in the crock pot and we had pulled pork sandwiches for dinner around 6 pm.  I think we were hit with the harsh reality our weekend was coming to an end and we wanted to do one more thing before Sunday ended.  So, we decided to go by Eric’s work where there is a fountain and park.   It is beautiful isn't it?!  Not really at all but Chloe did enjoy it!  And that was the end… Now it is time to kick this weeks butt!

 A few extras!

She put Cinderella in time out in her castle!

Our Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was pretty much perfect.  I got an early start and woke up at 7 am.  You would think I would have been disappointed that I didn't get to sleep in but I so enjoyed having alone time while Chloe and Eric slept.  I got a good hour and a half in alone and I got ready for the day, drank my coffee, and read my Bible for a good twenty minutes.
My PERFECT new bag!

Once they woke up, I got Chloe ready and we went to my mom's to give her and her twin their Mother's Day gifts and to go to the buffet together.  I loved my mom's reaction to her new Nikes and outfit we got her.  My mom and her twin have always been givers and rarely ever do anything for themselves so I love to see them open gifts!
Chloe "signing"  her card to Grandma.
Chloe, my mom, and I at the Buffet.
It started pouring down as soon as we left so after we dropped my mom off, we went and got some movies to just watch at home.  Chloe and I cuddled for like two seconds before she got the itch to play.  After our movie, we ran out to put flowers on Eric's mother's grave.

We ended the night with a water balloon fight.  And that is it! I felt so blessed that I had two reasons to celebrate this day.  I have an amazing mother who brought me into this life and I have an amazing daughter who gave me life in a whole other way.  Happy late Mother's Day to all the mommas out there!  We have the hardest but by far the best job out there!

Weekend Shots

You can't beat a good weekend with good weather and that is what we have had the last few weekends.  So, I wanted to share a few, actually more than a few weekend shots from the last few weekends.
 A little usie church.
At first this wig scared her but once she put it on, she actually liked it!
A little girl time...
Some outside adventures and toddler picked outfits.

A little bit of dress up.
Cousin quality time.

A Birthday Party!
